8 Month Update

Another month has passed by here! Little Madison Grace is a whopping 8 months! With the holiday season, the never ending amount of studying and school time, and just being a housewife on top of everything is definitely making the time go by so fast.

Madison's personality is really becoming more defined! She is silly, funny, social, and very active. I can hardly get her to take naps and when she does, it's about 20 minutes. Just long enough for her to charge her batteries!

We are still working on crawling. I have a feeling she may not crawl but she still manages to get to where she needs to go whether it is scooting on her bottom or army crawling.

My guess is that she weighs around 17 pounds (give or take). Our next appointment will be her 9 month checkup. Still no teeth yet but you can tell that they are fixing to cut through at any moment!

New things that she is doing is smacking her lips, waving to people, and shaking her head no.

Maddie absolutely loves to play and be outdoors just about all day!

This month has been so much fun! Her motor skills are increasing, she is becoming very mobile, trying new foods, experienced her first Halloween, and just being an absolute joy! Can't wait to see how much she has developed when 9 months roll around!

The Obstacle In Our Path

In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the King for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the stone out of the way.

Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. After the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway.

The peasant learned what many of us never understand! Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition.

Update: Things Are Getting Dangerous Around Here

Good morning readers! No I am not MIA. I have just been busy with school, taking care of Maddie Bug, and of course being the awesome housewife that I am! I figured I would give a short update on Madison.

So I was getting ready for class yesterday morning. I swear that I merely looked away for 5 seconds and she was like this. It's starting to become dangerous business around here. Madison is currently getting into everything. She has to grab everything and put everything in her mouth.

I have a feeling that she is going to skip crawling. We put her on her knees and she rocks but she still wont do the crawling part. She just flops back on her belly and basically army crawls everywhere.

Either way Madison is now a handful and a half! She is seriously a ball of energy that never stops until bedtime! I can't even imagine how thingss will be when she starts walking! I definitely have my work cut out for me!

Happy Tuesday!!

Madison's First Halloween!

Good afternoon readers! Yes I am doing two posts in one day! I was going to wait to share this on Monday but I decided to go ahead and post! I just wanted to share our Halloween pictures! Madison went as....

RAGGEDY ANN!

I was having trouble deciding what I wanted her to be. We received this dress this past weekend and I thought that I could possibly put together Maddie's Halloween costume with merely a couple of dollars! Seriously all I did was buy red yarn at Michaels and wah-lah! Everybody thought she was the cutest!

And we even went with a friend. Maddie was trying to grab her friend's ears the whole time! Typical Maddie... That girl can never sit still!

And then of course we met up with Daddy as soon as he got off work!

It was such a great first Halloween for our Maddie Bug! She had such a great time and was on her best behavior the whole night! :)
